While some divorces result from both spouses’ desire to end the marriage, that is not always the case. Under Texas law, one spouse cannot prevent the other from obtaining a divorce. However, if one spouse does not want to get divorced, it will mean that the divorce is a contested divorce, which will generally make it a longer, more challenging process.
